Litigation Services

Bennett Gastle’s lawyers have extensive experience in the area of commercial and civil litigation. They have represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of matters.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) includes mediation, early neutral evaluations, and other creative options to resolve lawsuits short of a trial. Elizabeth Bennett-Martin has a Master of Laws degree in Civil Litigation and ADR. The Bennett Gastle team is well-positioned to leverage ADR in appropriate cases. We canvass the possibility of alternative resolutions early in the litigation process. If it is not possible at an early stage the issue will be revisited throughout the litigation as appropriate.

Arbitration

Arbitration is dispute resolution by a private court in which the parties select the judge or arbitrator. Bennett Gastle can assist clients in arbitration and we have undertaken various arbitrations in Ontario and internationally under the UNCITRAL Rules and the American Arbitration Association.
