He has been an Adjunct Professor at
Chuck helped found Bennett Gastle Professional Corporation. He practises commercial litigation, international trade litigation, and international arbitration. Building on his trade expertise, he is also involved in trade policy development.
Chuck has over twenty years of commercial litigation experience and has been involved in a variety of cases, including issues related to creditor-debtor remedies, enforcement of security, fraudulent conveyances, bankruptcy fraud, shareholder remedies, securities, breach of contract, disability and life claims, property claims, coverage issues and professional negligence. He has represented trustees in bankruptcy, receivers, and court-appointed inspectors.
With respect to international arbitration, Bennett Gastle is currently representing an American investor in a NAFTA Chapter 11 case against the Government of Canada under the UNCITRAL Rules and a Canadian public company in an international arbitration under the American Arbitration Association Rules.

On May 20th, 2009 Chuck received the Osgoode Hall Law School Alumni Association Gold Key Award for his service to the legal profession and society at the annual Dean’s Reception. Osgoode Dean Patrick Monahan commented in the Osgoode News Release that the seven recipients “are highly respected professionals whose accomplishments in the field of law are truly extraordinary.”
October 12th, 2006, Chuck received the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council's Procurement Business Advocate of the Year Award. On June 15th, 2006, Chuck received the Osgoode Hall Law School Adjunct Faculty Teaching Award. On March 11th, 2004, Chuck received from the Government of France the Chevalier de L’Ordre des Palmes académiques. |
